Practical defense needs more people at the table.
Defense Command is an early volunteer-led project with a long-term goal: organize internal teams that take responsibility for threats and develop defenses.
Purpose
Protect people, essential services, and infrastructure as autonomous systems become more capable.
Who can help
- Researchers and builders with an idea or expertise.
- Reviewers who can sharpen a threat or defense.
- Volunteers willing to coordinate a Defense Command team.
- Supporters who want to make practical defense work possible.
Make useful work visible.
Our pipeline is threat hypothesis, review and prioritization, Defense Command team ownership, defense sub-projects, and ongoing reassessment. Each team chooses its approach. External collaborators are welcome but are not required. The main project coordinates responsibility and keeps the work visible.
Volunteer participation
We work out of altruism. Public recognition is optional, including recognition of a completed manual human-verification check with consent. Verification does not certify expertise or the truth of a claim. You do not need to reveal your identity publicly to contribute.
Submissions are reviewed manually at this stage. Recognition and verification are coordinated manually; the site does not issue verification badges.
Honest responsibility
Active work needs an internal team, an accountable coordinator, and a next step. Project records show when their status was last confirmed and when it should be reviewed. Inactive work should be paused and handed over or reopened for ownership.
Teams distinguish tested results, inferences, and unknowns. Exercises can inform preparedness for rare catastrophes without proving performance in the full event. There is no single impact measure for every defense.
